Ground Hog Day

After having such a fun time with Ward on Friday, it seemed like the perfect way to introduce multi-pitch climbing to Dan on Saturday.  And with three other parties climbing with us on Ground Hog Day (II 5.6, 3p), the alternative start Ain't Misbehaving (5.7, 1 pitch), and another party on the neighboring route Aquarius (II 5.7, 3p), February Buttress was a great opportunity to discuss the nuances of clear climber-belayer communication, techniques to pass slower teams, and rappelling past ascending teams.  This routes popularity is definetely starting to get around - I've never seen so many people there!  But it all went smoothly, and we spent the afternoon reviewing trad gear and anchors at the Mountaineers Dome (no-one there!), before wrapping things up with a couple of pints at the brand-spanking-new Icicle Brewing Company.

Dan is all smiles after climbing Ground Hog Day.
