A month ago I spent two days setting up for Vertfest 2011, a gathering of the local backcountry community and a great race that is becoming an annual event in the Cascades. This great video will give you an idea of what the racers faced after 30+ worker hours of posting flags, setting up gates, kicking boot packs and digging out platforms. Chestbeating: I dug out all three of those, big enough that people in the chairlift thought we were getting ready for a BBQ.
