20090109 / Snow Report / Bits and Bobs

Spent the day teaching skiing and practicing teaching skiing, so no photos or backcountry news as hoped for.  Get ready for a solid week of corn skiing!  Moderate winds and cloud cover kept it from really softening up today at Alpine Meadows, but elswhere there were reports of light corn snow being harvested for a few hours today.  Warming temperatures through the weekend should make the crop spread further across the sierra.  I'm going to try to catch a dawn patrol down at Mammoth this weekend - stay tuned!

Bits and Bobs:  I "discovered" the Ward Mountain Telemetry Station (in the heart of Alpine Meadows territory), on the NWS site and have replaced the telemetry links from "Squallywood" to this station instead.  Enjoy.
