This is not a tour for skiers new to the backcountry - everyone here should know how to use their gear and make kick turns.
So on 2 March I headed out with Sabine, Jeff and Maarten, hoping to reach the east summit of Snoqualmie Mountain. Unfortunately the avalanche hazard kept up from crossing Cave Ridge, but we ended up getting 3500' of incredible powder skiing on the Phantom slide, including the classic waterfall finish.
