Last night I passed another milestone, having successfully completed my Level 2 Alpine Ski Instructor Certification from the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA). This represents 50+ days of actual teaching, 15 days of training, and 7 days of examining. PSIA certification isn't required in the guiding community, but it is recognized as a notable achievement and bolsters a guide's ski qualifications.
Special thanks to Patsy and Charlie for tolerating Lake Tahoe these last two winters, to the entire Ski School department at Alpine Meadows for their training and encouragement, and to Sierra Mountain Center for their support, even as it has taken away my time for guiding.
